Hi, I’m Dayne!

Originally from Athens, Georgia, I’m a designer, performer, creative, teacher, crochet-er, dog dad, musician…I could go on!

I’m a graduate of Brigham Young University’s BFA Music Dance Theatre Program. I’ve had the opportunity to play a variety of performance spaces from small, intimate, make-shift theatres, to major international houses. To me, it doesn’t matter the size or location, each performance space is sacred.

I love how theatre has the power to bring us together and teach us. It provides a moment to escape the realities of the world and to laugh, cry, learn about other people, or just to be entertained.

I currently have the honor of touring around the world on the international tour of Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music as Franz, u/s Max Detweiller.

Other select favorite theatre credits include Daryl in Bright Star, Oliver Hicks in The Music Man, Mr. Elton in Emma The Musical, and Charlie in The Foreigner.

I’ve always had a need to create—be it performing or expressing my creativity through other mediums. As a high schooler, I spent much of my free time (whenever I wasn’t performing), exploring graphic design through formal courses or learning on my own.

My fascination with design led me to study UX/UI Design in Avocademy’s UX/UI Foundations course. I continue to further my knowledge and sharpen my skills by regularly participating in master classes and lectures.

I'm a passionate designer bringing empathy and understanding of the user to the core of my design. My background in theatrical performance helps me understand how to tell effective stories both on and off stage and put myself in the shoes of others. I love learning and developing new processes and innovative ways of improving existing structures. I seek to bring a spirit of collaboration, teamwork, and fun to every group I work with.

When I’m not working…

I enjoy finding other ways to express my creativity anyway I can. A few of my favorite creative outlets include crocheting, UX/UI Design, piano, and digital art.

My pride and joy is my little Shih Tzu Tillie. We love going on walks and play catch together. She who hates when I put her in the doggie costumes I find.

I love traveling and exploring this beautiful world we live in and learning from the people and cultures that inhabit it. I learn so much from those I meet while traveling, and I always come home inspired with my mind and knowledge expanded. When not traveling myself, I enjoy watching travel vlogs, learning from the experiences other travelers.
